What can I expect from you?
- Consultation: Before accepting a session fee, I speak with each client. This is your chance to ask any lingering questions you may have, and when I find out what your needs are, and get the info I need to put together the perfect photo session for you. When everything clicks, we schedule a photo session at the time and location that works best for you. After we have confirmed the session, I will send you my style guide to assist you with styling options. You are welcome to contact me ahead of time with any wardrobe questions you may have.
- Portrait session: Depending on the type of images you need, a typical photo session can last up to two hours or more - no rushing! The session itself is a collaboration that evolves naturally from the personalities of my clients and the settings. I like to tell kids "I'll take some pictures while you are having fun." Poses evolve naturally with minimal guidance from me. No two sessions are ever the same.
- Viewing session: A week or two after the session, we will meet again to view the photos. At this meeting I help you select the portraits best-suited to the products you want.
- Delivery! I love to personally deliver the products to your home or office to share in the joy, but I can mail your products as well..
What do you charge? Do you offer packages?
There is a session fee of $200. Your session includes a hair and makeup artist, who listens carefully to your needs. This will ensure that your images that show you at your best. Images prices start at $150. Packages include multiple images with stunning folio display boxes and start at $1099. Spend $400, spend $4,000, it's entirely up to you. Buy only what you love. Archival quality framed prints and heirloom quality canvases are also available. Samples are available to view in my Beaverton studio.
What should I wear for my portrait session?
After we have booked a session, you will receive a complete style guide. In a portrait it is the people that need to stand out, not the clothing. It is not necessary for everyone in a photo to have clothing that matches exactly. A good option is to choose clothing in similar tones, so that no single item of clothing detracts from the people in the photo. Also consider where your photo shoot will take place. If you are in a wooded area, or in a park after a rain, you may be unhappy wearing heels or dry-clean only attire. In studio, it's easy to bring several options, and explore the wardrobe options Firefly offers.
There is no one right answer for everyone. We can talk more about how to pick great clothes at your consultation.
Do you shoot in color or black and white?
I shoot everything in color, but all portraits are available in black and white or sepia. Each image is carefully adjusted to retain the beauty of the image.
I'm not sure what products I want. Can you help?
Yes! There are so many ways to display your images, it can be overwhelming. I'm here to help you every step of the way. Whether you need a large piece of art for your wall, or a stunning Italian leather photo journal for your coffee table, I'm here to help you find the products that meet your unique display needs.
